Even if you tell me that you’re a very careful driver and it’s not required in your state, it doesn’t mean that you can opt not to get vehicle insurance. This type of thinking is rather closed minded. Why? Because it assumes that either you’re the only one driving the road or everyone else drives like you. Even if you are all alone, there is still a small chance of you getting into trouble. Dark night, slippery road, you get the idea. That’s why it is called an accident. Because it happens no matter how careful you are.
Now some states require that car owners insure their vehicles. This means that if you are ever involved in a vehicular accident, you can be fined for not having insurance. You can either lose your license or get thrown jail. The worst thing that could possibly happen? You get sued. Think about it. Just because you wanted to save money by not paying premiums, you end up paying a whole lot more.
There are other advantages of having vehicle insurance. Let’s suppose you are involved in an accident. If you were the one at fault, then you have no choice but to pay for the damages. Both your car and the other car. Now let’s say the other car was the one that hit you. If they found out you don’t have any insurance, there is a possibility that they may not be required for the damages done to your car. Meaning you end up paying for the damages.
Clearly having your car insured has a lot of benefits. With this, you can feel more safe while driving. You can even drive leisurely since your mind won’t be preoccupied with “evading” possible dangers. Remember, an accident can happen anytime. So what are you waiting for? Go out there and start looking for vehicle insurance.
